Biography

A vocal powerhouse, Yokez has built her name as one of the brightest personalities and singer-songwriters in Singapore. With her strong DIY background, Yokez released her debut 5-track self-penned Mandopop EP in 2018. The track "How You Appeared" entered the Spotify Top 50 Viral Charts in Malaysia and to date, the EP has been streamed over 1.5 million times on Spotify. Yokez's voice has also been featured in several productions, drama series and OSTs. In 2020, her co-written ballad "My Blessings" was awarded the Melody (Merit) Award in the SG:SW 2020 I Write The Songs songwriting competition. In 2021, Yokez took part in SingVoice with the outstanding track "What Have I Become," scored a label deal with Warner Music Singapore and released her latest EP, Hello Sunshine, in March 2023.

熟悉本地中文乐坛的朋友对“Yokez 叶玉棂”这个名字应当不陌生。多才多艺的她7岁开始学钢琴，也会弹吉他，连主持演戏都难不倒她。身为新生代创作才女，叶玉棂拥有一把悠远清澈的好声音，能驾驭不同曲风，而最擅长的无疑就是治愈系温柔抒情曲风。

她从中学时代开始喜欢唱歌，大学一年级正式参加比赛，写了生平第一首《不再哭泣》并晋升大决赛，自此与音乐和创作比赛结下不解之缘 —— 参加过的音乐创作比赛无数、2018年发行首张全创作EP，并在 “妆艺大游行2022” 担任压轴歌手之一。

2021年可说是叶玉棂音乐生涯的转捩点。身经百战的她凭着出众的唱作才华，晋升《SingVoice新创之声》大决赛10强之一，同时夺得 “UFM100.3媒体推荐奖” ，比赛后获新加坡华纳音乐青睐，力邀签约加盟旗下。

叶玉棂虽外形温婉优雅，但内心其实非常强大，骨子里的坚毅尤其令人折服。过程中几次败北的经验成了她的推动力，一心证明自己可以做到，总计创下7次参赛的纪录。

值得期待的是，全心打造的叶玉棂已发行三首单曲《分手意义》，《一刹那花火》和《你是我的情人节》，也在2023年3月推出了全新EP 《天晴預告》！
